Candid is a standalone Swift Package that lets product and UX teams run in-app user research sessions directly inside a shipping iOS app. Instead of recruiting users for external studies, you embed Candid once and activate research sessions for selected users at any time. No separate app, no screen-share link, and no manual upload step required.

How it works end to end

The integration follows three stages:
  1. Initialize the SDK. Get your API key in your Candid dashboard (Project Settings).
  2. Register triggers. Call Candid.register(trigger:) in your code to register every place a Candid study might spawn. Might they be generic (like onboarding, home) or more specific (to target a new feature or flow you are building).
  3. Configure studies in your dashboard. Go to your Candid dashboard and create studies to learn from your users. You can then link them to any trigger you’ve registered in your code.
Candid will present a transparent overlay modal that walks the participant through each step. A permissions screen requests screen and microphone access. Next, a recording screen shows the current task in a bottom sheet with a draggable microphone bubble the participant can minimise while they navigate your app. You will find the results in your dashboard as tests are done by your users.
